Computer User Support Specialist

We are seeking a Computer User Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues, document solutions, and provide insights to improve AI training data. You will work remotely as an independent contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve common and complex hardware, software, operating system, and networking issues.

• Troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.

• Resolve network connectivity issues involving TCP/IP, VPNs, and DNS.

• Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and user interactions accurately in ticket management systems.

• Provide detailed technical and process insights to support high-quality training data.

• Explain technical concepts clearly through written and verbal communication.

• Work asynchronously with project teams and contribute reliably without constant supervision.

• Identify recurring support issues and recommend workflow or process improvements.

• Apply established IT support and troubleshooting best practices consistently.

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience providing Tier 2 or Tier 3 IT support.

• Strong experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues across different platforms.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPNs, and DNS troubleshooting.

• Experience using ticket management systems and maintaining thorough technical documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work.

Nice to have

• CompTIA A+ certification.

• CompTIA Network+ certification.

• ITIL certification or equivalent training.

• Experience supporting diverse hardware, operating systems, and network environments.
