About the Role

We’re looking for experienced educators, assessors, academic writers, and instructional professionals who can evaluate written work objectively against defined quality standards.

You’ll review and compare written responses, assess their clarity, accuracy, usefulness, and adherence to instructions, and provide detailed written reasoning for your evaluations. The work requires strong analytical judgment, careful reading, and the ability to distinguish between writing that is polished and writing that is genuinely accurate, useful, and appropriate for its intended audience.

No previous AI experience is required.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate and compare multiple written responses against defined assessment criteria.

• Assess clarity, tone, helpfulness, accuracy, and adherence to instructions.

• Apply provided rubrics and guidelines consistently.

• Assign analytical quality scores based on established criteria.

• Write detailed rationales explaining and supporting each assessment.

• Identify responses that are fluent but unsupported or comprehensive but impractical for the intended audience.

• Detect factual errors, contradictions, unsupported claims, and other reliability issues.

• Evaluate whether written content is appropriate and usable for its intended purpose.

• Document decisions, observations, and assessment findings accurately.

• Maintain consistent evaluation standards across assignments.

• Collaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers using digital content review platforms.

• Work independently while meeting project deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

• First-language proficiency or fully equivalent fluency in written English.

• A completed degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.

• Experience marking, grading, assessing, or examining written work against defined criteria or rubrics.

• Strong understanding of how to evaluate written work objectively and consistently.

• Excellent critical analysis and attention to detail.

• Strong written communication and editing skills.

• Ability to identify factual inaccuracies, inconsistencies, unsupported reasoning, and weaknesses in written responses.

• Ability to clearly explain the reasoning behind an assessment or score.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

• Ability to meet project deadlines and maintain consistent quality across assignments.

Experience with model evaluation, RLHF, data annotation, or related quality-review work is helpful but not required.

Your Professional Judgment Matters

The role requires more than checking whether a response is grammatically correct or well written.

You’ll need to determine whether the content is actually accurate, supported, relevant, practical, and appropriate for its intended audience.

A strong assessment should distinguish between writing that simply sounds convincing and writing that demonstrates reliable reasoning and useful substance. You’ll also need to apply the rubric consistently and explain your decisions clearly enough for another reviewer to understand the basis of your assessment.

What Success Looks Like

Successful contributors will produce consistent, well-reasoned evaluations supported by clear evidence from the responses being assessed.

Your work should identify meaningful differences in quality, surface factual or logical problems, and provide concise but sufficiently detailed reasoning for each assessment.

Compensation & Engagement

• Annual compensation equivalent: $172,800–$268,800, calculated at 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks per year.

• Hourly rate: $90–$140/hour.
