About the Role

We are seeking advanced Excel professionals with broad, cross-industry experience to contribute to the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.

This role is designed for Excel generalists who have used spreadsheets extensively across different industries, business functions, and types of work. You should be comfortable applying Excel to a wide range of problems rather than specializing in a single function or industry.

Your expertise will help create realistic spreadsheet tasks, develop accurate solutions, evaluate results, and provide practical feedback that improves AI performance.

What You'll Do

• Help identify knowledge gaps in AI systems working with Excel and spreadsheet-based tasks.

• Design realistic Excel tasks based on your professional experience across different business contexts.

• Create accurate, well-structured solutions to the tasks you develop.

• Review Excel tasks and solutions for accuracy, quality, and practical usability.

• Provide clear written feedback to improve AI-generated work.

• Work with other subject matter experts to maintain consistency and accuracy across project materials.

Requirements

• Advanced, professional-level Excel expertise.

• Strong experience with advanced formulas, including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and dynamic arrays.

• Proficiency with PivotTables, data modeling, dashboards, Power Query, Power Pivot, and macros/VBA.

• Demonstrated experience applying Excel across multiple industries, business functions, or professional contexts.

• Ability to approach different types of spreadsheet problems rather than focusing exclusively on one specialized use case.

• Demonstrated career progression in your professional field.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively with other subject matter experts.

• Reliable availability for the required schedule.

• Must be based in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching or training others in Excel or related professional skills.

• PhD or equivalent advanced academic experience.

• Previous experience with AI training, human-data annotation, or AI model evaluation.

• Experience working with evaluation rubrics or comparable AI training projects.

Prior AI experience is helpful but not required. The primary focus is your depth and breadth of practical Excel expertise.

Availability

The expected commitment is:

• 40 hours per week on weekdays through the end of September.

• 20 hours per week thereafter.

You should be able to maintain reliable availability throughout the applicable project period.

Contract Details

• Fully remote.

• Hourly contract engagement.

• Flexible working arrangement within the required availability.

• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project requirements and performance.

• The work will not require access to confidential or proprietary information belonging to an employer, client, or institution.

• Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.

• H-1B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported for this opportunity.

Compensation

The rate is $70–$100 per hour.

At 40 hours per week for 52 weeks, this is equivalent to approximately $145,600–$208,000 per year. Actual earnings will depend on hours worked, project duration, and applicable engagement terms.
