Annualized compensation is an illustrative equivalent based on 40 hours/week × 48 weeks/year. Actual earnings depend on hours worked, project availability, and approved work.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced photo and visual editors to evaluate, select, edit, and retouch images for specific purposes. You will assess image quality, accuracy, and suitability, identify technical issues or misleading alterations, and explain your decisions in writing.

This opportunity is suited to professionals who have selected and edited images for publication, clients, brands, or other real-world audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Review image sets and select the strongest images for a defined purpose.

• Assess technical quality, including exposure, focus, color, noise, and cropping.

• Identify images altered in ways that change or misrepresent what they show.

• Verify that captions and descriptions accurately reflect image content.

• Provide concise written explanations supporting image-selection and editing decisions.

• Correct or retouch images in accordance with the project brief.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience as a photo editor, picture editor, visual editor, retoucher, or photo producer.

• Regular use of professional image-editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, or Capture One.

• Experience delivering images for print, web, social media, broadcast, or brand-related work.

• Ability to explain why an image is suitable or unsuitable for a particular purpose.

• Clear written English.
