Revenue Operations & CRM Systems Specialist (SaaS)

Contract · Remote

Annual Compensation Equivalent: $93,600–$187,200/year
Hourly Rate: $45–$90/hour

About the Role

This contract role is for an experienced Revenue Operations or SaaS systems professional with hands-on ownership of CRM and connected revenue systems. You’ll analyze interconnected business systems, identify operational inconsistencies, and document how complex or ambiguous scenarios should be handled.

The work involves applying practical operational judgment to real-world CRM, billing, ticketing, and revenue workflows while helping train and improve next-generation AI systems. Prior AI experience is not required; the focus is on your professional expertise and ability to reason through complex operational situations.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze CRM, billing, ticketing, and related revenue-system data to identify gaps between operational processes, system configuration, and business policies.

  • Identify and document policy conflicts, outdated automations, duplicate records or entities, permission mismatches, and unclear or undocumented processes.

  • Develop precise operational guidance and recommendations for handling complex or ambiguous scenarios across the SaaS revenue stack.

  • Evaluate the desired state of underlying data and identify discrepancies that affect reporting, workflows, or operational consistency.

  • Document the reasoning behind recommended changes, including why certain changes are necessary and why other areas should remain unchanged.

  • Use sound operational judgment when policies conflict or when changes in one system may create downstream effects across connected systems.

  • Assess the broader impact of system and process changes to maintain operational integrity across interconnected tools.

  • Produce clear, detailed documentation that can be understood and used by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in revenue operations, sales operations, customer success operations, or SaaS implementation/onboarding with direct ownership of business systems.

  • Demonstrated experience personally configuring CRM platforms, including fields, workflows, validation rules, permissions, and related system settings.

  • Experience with at least two revenue-adjacent SaaS systems, such as billing or subscription management, CPQ and quoting, customer support or ticketing, project management, or automation and integration platforms.

  • Strong understanding of SaaS operational processes and interconnected revenue systems.

  • Ability to identify how changes in one system, workflow, or policy can affect downstream processes and data.

  • Strong data accuracy and reporting judgment, with the ability to identify discrepancies and determine the appropriate operational state.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous policies, exceptions, and competing operational requirements, particularly around renewals and entitlement changes.

  • Strong professional English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex reasoning, decisions, and operational trade-offs clearly in writing and conversation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in SaaS environments with complex, multi-product implementations.

  • Experience in fintech, healthtech, insurtech, or similarly complex SaaS environments.

  • Experience managing interconnected CRM, billing, support, and automation ecosystems.

  • Strong documentation skills, particularly for operational policies, system logic, exceptions, and decision-making processes.

  • Experience identifying and resolving operational issues that span multiple business systems.

Who Should Apply

This role is well suited to experienced RevOps, Sales Ops, Customer Success Ops, CRM, or SaaS implementation professionals who have personally owned and configured business systems rather than simply managing teams that perform the work.

You should be comfortable investigating imperfect data, challenging unclear processes, resolving conflicting rules, and explaining the reasoning behind operational decisions. Prior AI experience is not required.

Compensation

  • Annual compensation equivalent: $93,600–$187,200

  • Hourly rate: $45–$90/hour

  • Annual equivalent is calculated at 40 hours per week × 52 weeks per year.

  • Actual earnings will depend on the number of hours worked and the duration of the engagement.
