About the Role

We’re looking for experienced postsecondary Sociology educators and researchers to apply their disciplinary expertise to an education-focused AI evaluation project.

You’ll design sociology-based assessment tasks, develop rigorous evaluation rubrics, review educational materials, and synthesize sociological research to create clear, measurable, academically sound learning and evaluation content.

No prior AI experience is required. Your sociology expertise, teaching experience, assessment knowledge, and ability to apply academic judgment are the core qualifications.

What You’ll Do

• Design assessment tasks grounded in sociological concepts, theories, and research.

• Create clear, measurable prompts that can be used consistently by educators and evaluators.

• Develop detailed rubrics that align directly with assessment objectives and expected outcomes.

• Apply pedagogical frameworks such as Bloom’s taxonomy when designing assessments and evaluation criteria.

• Review educational materials and provide detailed, constructive feedback on clarity, rigor, accuracy, and authenticity.

• Research and synthesize relevant sociological literature to support assessment and rubric development.

• Document the rationale, criteria, and expected outcomes for assessments and rubrics.

• Translate complex sociological theories and research into clear, actionable educational content.

• Collaborate asynchronously with other subject-matter experts and project stakeholders.

• Refine assessment materials based on peer and project feedback.

Requirements

• PhD or ABD in Sociology or a closely related discipline.

• Postsecondary teaching experience in Sociology or a related field.

• Active research, publication, or scholarly work in sociology.

• Demonstrated experience developing assessments, evaluation tasks, or grading rubrics.

• Strong understanding of pedagogical principles, including Bloom’s taxonomy and assessment design frameworks.

• Strong analytical, research, and synthesis skills.

• Ability to distill complex sociological theories and literature into clear educational content.

• Experience reviewing academic or educational work and providing objective, constructive feedback.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong commitment to academic accuracy, clarity, and rigor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing structured assessment frameworks or standardized evaluation criteria.

• Experience creating measurable learning objectives and assessment prompts.

• Experience reviewing peer or student work using structured evaluation criteria.

• Background in educational research, curriculum development, or instructional design.

• Experience contributing to projects involving academic content evaluation or benchmarking.

• Familiarity with AI evaluation or AI-assisted education projects is helpful but not required.

Compensation & Engagement

• Hourly rate: $50–$90/hour.

• Annual compensation equivalent: $104,000–$187,200 based on a 40-hour workweek.
