About the Role

This remote contract opportunity is for subject matter experts who can accurately interpret complex charts, graphs and data visualizations and turn them into clear, objectively answerable analytical tasks.

You will use your domain expertise and quantitative reasoning skills to create questions that require multi-step analysis, calculations, comparisons and trend interpretation. You will also provide precise answers with detailed explanations of the reasoning and calculations involved.

No prior AI or machine-learning experience is required. Your professional or academic domain knowledge, analytical ability and attention to detail are the primary qualifications.

What You'll Do

• Interpret domain-specific charts, graphs and data visualizations with a high level of accuracy

• Apply precise domain terminology when describing data, trends and statistical information

• Design clear questions based on information-rich charts and visualizations

• Create objectively answerable tasks requiring multi-step quantitative reasoning

• Develop analytical questions involving calculations, comparisons, trends and relationships between data points

• Provide accurate answers with detailed, step-by-step reasoning and calculations

• Correctly use chart terminology, units, axes, scales, legends, confidence intervals and time periods

• Review tasks for ambiguity, subjectivity, unsupported conclusions and unnecessary complexity

• Collaborate remotely with project coordinators and reviewers

• Communicate analytical concepts clearly in written and verbal English

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant quantitative or technical domain

• At least 2 years of professional, academic or research experience working with relevant charts, graphs or quantitative data

• Strong chart interpretation and quantitative reasoning skills

• Ability to interpret complex visualizations containing multiple data series, annotations or statistical features

• Strong command of domain-specific terminology

• Ability to construct questions with a single, objectively defensible interpretation

• Ability to communicate calculations and analytical reasoning clearly in English

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Comfortable collaborating remotely with technical, research or cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree, professional certification or significant industry specialization

• Experience creating technical assessments or benchmark questions

• Experience developing structured analytical tasks for education, analytics, research or evaluation

• Experience working with complex statistical or domain-specific visualizations

• Experience with asynchronous collaboration across distributed teams

Compensation & Engagement

• Hourly rate: $25–$50/hour

• Annual compensation equivalent: $52,000–$104,000 based on 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

• Actual earnings depend on hours worked and available project assignments
