About the Role

We’re looking for experienced journalists and professional writers to evaluate written content for accuracy, clarity, coherence, usefulness, and adherence to editorial requirements.

You’ll review and compare written responses to different prompts, assess their overall quality, and provide concise, well-reasoned explanations for your evaluations. The work requires strong editorial judgment and the ability to distinguish between writing that sounds persuasive and content that is genuinely accurate, well-supported, relevant, and appropriate for its intended audience.

No previous AI experience is required.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate and compare multiple written responses to different writing prompts.

• Assess clarity, tone, usefulness, accuracy, and adherence to instructions.

• Apply defined evaluation criteria consistently.

• Assign analytical quality scores and provide concise written rationales.

• Identify persuasive or polished writing that contains inaccuracies, unsupported claims, or departures from the intended brief.

• Detect factual errors, logical inconsistencies, contradictions, and problems with internal coherence.

• Assess whether content is appropriate for its intended audience and purpose.

• Review writing against relevant editorial or style requirements.

• Document evaluations accurately using digital content review platforms and project tools.

• Collaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers to maintain consistent evaluation standards.

• Work independently and complete assigned evaluations within project timelines.

What We’re Looking For

• Native or near-native written English proficiency.

• A university degree completed at an institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.

• Professional experience as a journalist, reporter, editor, copy editor, sub-editor, fact-checker, ghostwriter, published author, or related writing professional.

• Strong technical writing, content evaluation, critical analysis, and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience editing or fact-checking other people's work against style guides or editorial standards.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong ability to assess writing for accuracy, clarity, coherence, and audience suitability.

• Ability to provide objective, well-reasoned written assessments.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work within project deadlines.

You’ll need to determine whether the content is actually accurate, supported, coherent, relevant, and faithful to the original instructions.

Strong evaluation requires recognizing when persuasive language masks factual problems, unsupported claims, weak reasoning, or deviations from the intended brief.

Successful contributors will produce clear, consistent evaluations that identify meaningful differences in writing quality.

Your assessments should accurately identify factual and logical issues while recognizing strong writing, appropriate tone, clear reasoning, and effective communication. Each evaluation should be supported by concise reasoning that another reviewer can understand and apply consistently.

Compensation & Engagement

• Annual compensation equivalent: $172,800–$268,800, calculated at 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks per year.

• Hourly rate: $90–$140/hour.
