About the Role

We are seeking experienced Litigation Associates with substantial federal civil litigation experience and a strong record of successful motion practice.

In this role, you will apply your litigation expertise to simulated legal tasks and the evaluation of AI-generated legal work. You will assess how effectively AI systems analyze litigation scenarios, develop arguments, interpret case law, and draft persuasive motions.

The role is particularly suited to attorneys who have extensive federal court experience and can translate practical litigation judgment into clear, objective evaluation criteria and feedback.

What You’ll Do

• Complete simulated motion drafting, briefing, and litigation strategy exercises.

• Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to federal litigation scenarios.

• Assess legal reasoning, argument quality, case-law analysis, accuracy, and drafting precision.

• Provide detailed feedback that can improve AI performance on litigation tasks.

• Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for assessing legal AI outputs.

• Evaluate whether litigation responses are procedurally sound, legally supported, and appropriately tailored to the scenario.

• Collaborate with product and research teams to refine legal data, guidelines, and evaluation practices.

• Apply practical litigation judgment to help distinguish strong legal work from responses that are incomplete, unsupported, or strategically ineffective.

What We’re Looking For

• Substantial experience litigating civil matters in federal court.

• Strong experience with federal motion practice, briefing, and litigation strategy.

• A documented record of at least 3 successful motions in federal civil litigation.

• Supporting documentation for successful motions, such as court orders or docket entries.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Meticulous attention to legal detail and factual accuracy.

• Strong analytical and legal reasoning abilities.

• Ability to translate practical litigation expertise into clear, actionable feedback.

• Experience working effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.

• Interest in the intersection of litigation, legal technology, and AI.

Relevant Litigation Experience

Experience with a range of federal civil motions is valuable, including:

• Motions to dismiss

• Motions for summary judgment

• Discovery motions

• Other substantive or procedural motions arising in federal civil litigation

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with AI, legal technology, or AI training and evaluation.

• Experience evaluating legal work against structured standards or rubrics.

• Broad exposure to different types of federal civil litigation and motion practice.
